Thursday 15th - Bastille Day Dinner
In France Bastille Day is celebrated as a national holiday - with joyous cries of "Viva la France!" to mark the storming of the Bastille in Paris on July 14, 1789.
The Old George and Dragon Restaurant prides itself in providing Australia's best French-European cuisine, delivered in its own unique and distinctive ambiance. Bastille Day provides us with the opportunity to celebrate our love of beautiful French inspired cuisine.
This will be a night dedicated to some classic and iconic French fare....see our menu below:
Hors d'oeuvre
(A selection of French inspired sauvory pastries served with French champagne)
Appetiser
Feuillte of escargot in garlic butter sauce
(The escargot's tender texture and clean woodsy flavour is enhanced by a rich garlicky sauce and buttery sheets of French puff pastry
Entree
Paupiette of seasonal game hen
(A classic French dish of seasonal game breast stuffed, rolled and slowly braised to perfection)
Sorbet
Lemon Sorbet
(A refreshing palate cleanser to prepare for our main course)
Main
Beef Bourguignon
(A traditional French stew prepared with beef braised in red wine, traditional red Burgundy and beef broth, flavoured with garlic, onions, bouquet garni, onions and mushrooms)
Side Dishes
Pommes Anna
(A French dish of sliced, layered potatoes cooked in a very large amount of melted butter)
Dessert
Creme Brulee Tasting Plate
(Our famous creme brulee prepared in a variety of delightful flavours)
Cheese
"The Homage to Fromage"
(A selection of beautiful French cheese to complete our degustation)
Wines
The menu will be matched with French champagne and wines

Friday 30th - Masquerade Degustation Dinner
The Old George and Dragon Masquerade Degustation Dinner will be a fundraising evening themed with mystery and magic.
More details to follow but there will be a fantastic mystery menu and a great opportunity to dress up and have fun.
